Seven casts from female hands, elements of fur
The “Hand of Glory” is the dried and stained hand of a man who has been hanged, often referred to as the left (sinister) hand, or, if the man was hanged for murder, the hand that “did the deed.” Ancient European lore attributes great powers to a “Hand of Glory,” in conjunction with a candle made of fat from the corpse of the same wrongdoer. The candle, placed in the “Hand of Glory,” would have immobilized all persons to whom it was presented.
