Camouflage Vest
Shanghai, China
2017.05
Made in Shanghai, this work represents the blending of symbolic representation constructed from the fragile materiality of paper with its inlaid historical narrative. The clothing is made from an antique Chinese book for self defense and from dried leaves mimicking a camouflage pattern. Designed as an interpretation of an sleeveless male Wushu (martial arts) uniform it also resembles a Nehru vest, which was later familiarized by the Beatles in the 1960ies.
