In recent years, Anita Gratzer, who draws her origins from traditional photography, has concentrated on creating wearable sculptures made from antique handmade paper. Influenced by her second home in Japan, she is interested in the intersection between garments and architecture and how cultural codes construct our identities. Reusing centuries-old material, she draws upon both the heritage of Christian iconography and that of Asian mythology. In this way, she explores inherent cultural traditions, creating cross-cultural references through her foldable constructions.
